About Me

My photo
rrp cartoon/illustration art
BFA-Pratt Institute 1975. Masters-LIU,Bklyn campus. Sabbatical-SVA, Manhattan. I enjoy art and sharing my skills and knowledge with children of all ages. My artist statement: You can find the foundations for many of my illustrations in the newspaper comic strips I read as a child. Buck Rogers in the 25th Century and Flash Gordon took us to far away times and places. Dale Messick's Brenda Starr Reporter brought glamour and adventure into our homes. Milton Caniff's Terry and the Pirates took children to the orient and beyond. I value this history and its strong images. Their classic pen and ink format inspires me to create art that reflects what I saw as a boy, mixed with what I see in the world as an adult. These components are all a part of my recipe for creativity.
